Islamic Fiqh Congress to Be Held in Najaf

A congress on “Islamic Fiqh” is going to be held in the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, provincial governor of Najaf said

ADYANNEWS, IQNA- A congress on “Islamic Fiqh” is going to be held in the holy city of Najaf in Iraq, provincial governor of Najaf said.

Adnan Al-Zarfi announced that 10 congresses are planned to be held in the city in line with the plan to mark “Najaf as the Islamic Culture Capital in 2012”.

“Islamic Fiqh”, “Islamic Comparative History” and “Interaction among Religious Sects” are among the congresses to be held during the current year, he added.

The provincial government of Salah-e-Din Province in Iraq has also expressed readiness to participate in the plan.

Also, Qassan Akaab Kalaf, head of the province’s Center of Culture and Arts, asserted that the center is organizing special programs for the plan.

“15 different programs have been so far planned including holding a book fair as well as exhibitions on Arabic calligraphy and illustrative arts,” he went on to say, adding that 3 memorial statues of eminent Iraqi poets and literary figures will be offered by Salah-e-Din’s artists to Najaf Provincial Government.
