Grand Ayatollah Hussein Noori Hamedani in a meeting with Iranian military commanders referred to recent Wall Street protests and said that the Middle East Islamic Awakening was an inspiration for that.

On the reasons behind the protests in America and western countries, Iranian jurisprudent said," The first reason for these protests was monopolization of the property and natural resources by a group of heads of state and capitalists."

According to the senior cleric, the other reason for Wall Street crisis is lucre which has led the rich to be richer and worsening the situation for the poor. "Affluence, high taxation is another reason for the booming economy of the rich and another motivation behind the Wall Street protests." the jurisprudent said.

On the solution for the crisis in the US and western countries, top cleric stressed gravitation to Islam as the only solution for these countries saying," The way for solving deprivation and poverty in the US is Islam and maintaining Islamic laws in the country."

Regardless to how many conferences are held to handle the dilemma, this problem is not to be solved without Islam, the cleric added. " Islam has chosen Jihad (religious duty to struggle) order to maintain Muslim honor, and one of the many types of jihad is combating the tyrants and oppressors," the ayatollah said.

This Iranian seminary figure pointed to the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran as the inspiration for the Middle East Islamic Awakening and said enemies of Islam have long tried for seclusion of Islam and Muslim figures but formation and victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran led Islam and Islamic system out of seclusion.
